Wrap-Ups

August 2020: Monthly Wrap-Up

In a lot of ways my life went back to normal (pre-COVID 19) – or, as close to normal as possible – this past month. I started working again, and with the new school semester about to start up, I found myself busy preparing for that transition too. πŸŽπŸŽ“

It definitely feels weird to be going back school after feeling like I never really had my summer break. Not that I’m complaining! Because I definitely had it a lot easier than most people probably did during these past few months. But I also never got the chance to do all the things I originally had planned for summer 2020.

It’s hard to believe, but I was supposed to spend the month of June travelling around the UK and Ireland. Now I can’t even imagine travelling within Canada. 😰 This was also the first summer ever where I wasn’t able to go back home and see my family, which really sucked. β˜ΉοΈπŸ’”

However, I’m a pretty optimistic person. So, I want to remind myself about what I enjoyed from this unusual summer. Specifically, the added time I’ve had to spend with my loved ones and to reinvest into my hobbies, such as my re-ignited passion for reading! 😍

β€œThat’s the thing about books. They let you travel without moving your feet.”

Books Read:

This month I managed to finish 10 books. πŸ€— I honestly didn’t think I’d manage to read so many with my “normal life” starting to rev back up, but I did! ☺️✨

Next Month’s TBR:

I’m super excited for September’s TBR list! I’ll be reading Cinderella is Dead with my instagram group read – one of my most anticipated recent releases. On the ARC front, I’ll be reading Hush, Shine and the sequel to The Gilded Wolves, The Silvered Serpents. 😍 I’m super excited for all of these titles, but particularly Shine since my partner is a HUUUGE Girl’s Generation/SNSD stan (and it’s written by a former member of the group! πŸ‘€) So keep your eyes peeled for those reviews, which will all be coming out soon. 🀩

How did the month of August pass for you?
