My Most Anticipated Fall Reads of 2025

It is officially fall! (Well, in 10 days anyways.) As a ✨fall girly✨ I have been just waiting for this moment. I’ve got my Red TV vinyl rotating in the background and a cup of pumpkin spice chai steaming in my mug. I am ready to crack open some autumnal books.

I might even have started my fall reading a little early this year. (Summerween anyone?) After already finishing two books on this list, I can confirm that so far my anticipated reads have definitely lived up to expectations. So, without further ado…

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V. E. Schwab

I’ve been excited about this book since it was announced, and after picking it up in June, I have been patiently waiting for the perfect time to pick it up… and it is finally time! This story sounds so dark and lush, and I can’t wait to read it for myself.

The Bewitching by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

I’ve been wanting to read for by Silvia Moreno-Garcia since I fell in love with her writing while reading Mexican Gothic. And I love a multigenerational witchy saga. So hearing about The Bewitching, I instantly felt like this was the book for me.

A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches was one of my favorite romance reads of the year. It was such a sweet, heartfelt and enjoyable story. I am really looking forward to picking up Sangu Mandanna’s latest novel. I’m hoping it will be just as heartwarming, and the perfect palate cleanser between so many spooky, scary stories this fall season.

Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson

Holly Jackson’s adult fiction debut? We’re here for it. I always find her thrillers pulse-pounding and fast-paced. Not Quite Dead Yet definitely feels like it will be just as compelling, with such a unique concept!

I actually didn’t realize that there was a planned sequel to A Study in Drowning. But look, I am ready either way. I loved the dark, romantic, hauntingly enchanted elements of the first novel. It was exactly my cup of tea, so I am very hopeful the sequel will be as well.

After reading three of her novels, I am such a fan of T. Kingfisher. And I adore a dark fairy-tale retelling. In short? I am really looking forward to reading Hemlock & Silver.
